In July 2014 changes were made in obtaining a CSCS Green card or General Labourer’s card.
To apply for an initial card or renew a current card there are now two options available:-
Apply for a Level 1 Award in Health and Safety in a Construction Environment (QCF) and complete the Operative’s touch screen test.
Attend the Site Safety Plus 1 day Health and Safety Awareness Course and complete the touch screen test.
CSCS will accept the Site Safety Plus Health and Safety Awareness course as an alternative to the QCF qualification.
On completion of the course candidates will be awarded a certificate valid for 5 years. The CSCS Green card can then be applied at any point as long as the certificate is within date and the touch screen test has been completed within 2 years.
Who Should Attend:
This course is an ideal foundation for all operatives working within the construction and civil engineering industry, or those wishing to enter the industry. A natural progression from this course would be to attend the Site Supervisors’ Safety Training Scheme-SSSTS.
- Accident Prevention and Reporting
- Your Role on Site
- Legal Requirements and Liabilities

This is a highly interactive course delivered by means of case studies, classroom discussion and group work. Candidates will be continuously assessed and will have to complete a multiple choice test.
